B Retina presents the finalists of its Short Film Contest

Here are the 10 short films that will go through to the final of the International Short Film Competition to be held next Sunday, September 18, within the 7th edition of the Cinema B-Retina Festival:

 



“LA ÚLTIMA NAVIDAD DEL UNIVERSO” (David Muñoz and Adrián Cardona) 15″. 2020 Spain

December 25 next year. Humanity has gone to hell and only a few survive by eating each other. Santa Claus comes to bring toys, but in a world without good children, he will have to use them as deadly weapons.


“PHONORAMA” (Álex Rey) 13″. 2022 Spain

José Antonio is about to enjoy a pleasant afternoon of reading, prostrate in his wheelchair, in his Manhattan apartment. But a dark and terrible force is about to turn their world upside down. Because no one can escape the destructive power of Phonorama…


“COVID LOVE” (René Nuijens) 6″. 2021 Netherlands

Covid Love is a comedy by Dutch director René Nuijens.
The film takes us to an intimate moment of Dick and Mary, who meet for the first time during the Covid pandemic. An empty restaurant, a somewhat strange waiter and his strict measures make for a difficult evening. Or will love prevail?

It is said that Argentines talk too much, that we repeat ourselves. That we use many words to say the same thing. But that is a cliché, a stereotype, a cliché. Or not?


“AL NADAL TOCA FUSTA” (Max Calvera Vernet) 13″. 2022 Spain

In a small town in the Sierra de Segura, there is an old electronics genius capable of fixing anything.
