The five finalist productions will be announced during the Cryptshow Festival in Badalona in July.
The Sabadell Horror Film Festival has kicked off the Catalan horror festivals of 2023 and, with it, the selection of Catalan-produced short films that are eligible for this year’s TAC Awards. There are a total of 32 Catalan productions that have participated in the official sections of the different member festivals during 2022.
Of the 32 selected films, a jury made up of representatives from all the festivals will choose five, which will compete for the TAC Awards for Best Short Film, Best Acting and Best Special Effects. Once again, the public will be able to choose the short film they like the most. As usual, the list of the five finalists will be announced during the Cryptshow Festival that takes place in Badalona on July 1, 7, 8 and 9. Once the finalists have been chosen, a jury of three professionals from the audiovisual sector will be responsible for awarding the best Catalan-produced short films in the horror or fantasy genre. The names of the winners will be announced in October, during the Cardoterror in Cardedeu.

As of today, TAC is made up of 14 festivals: Sabadell Horror Film Festival, Sant Cugat Fantástico, Cryptshow Festival (Badalona), Fantosfreak (Cerdanyola del Vallès), B-Retina (Cornellà de Llobregat), Fangofest (Amposta), Infesto (Rubí), Acocollona’t (Girona), Bayo de Fest (Roses), Cardoterror (Cardedeu), Festival de Terror de Molins de Rei, Galacticat (Tàrrega), FantBoi (Sant Boi de Llobregat and lo Fantàstik Film Festival (Granollers).
